Booking Terms and Conditions
Booking directly through our website - full payment at time of booking.
If booking with us by telephone/email we may agree to take a deposit at the time of booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to the check-in date.
Check-In Time 03:00 PM | Check-Out Time 10:30 AM
The cottages are available for check-in from 3pm onwards. You will receive an email with the PIN to your key safe prior to check-in. Please contact us by emailing email@example.com if you have not received your entry PIN email 3 days prior to check-in and we will re-send. Please also check your Spam folder in case your email system has filed it already.
Toddlers & Young Children: The cottages are 200+ year old buildings with stone steps and some uneven surfaces so may not be suitable for toddlers/young children. If bringing young children, please check that the cottages are suitable and contact us prior to booking if you have any questions.
Damage: Please let us know of any damage immediately so that we can aim to repair as soon as possible. Spillages are more easily rectified when dealt with swiftly. Any significant damage may result in an additional charge for replacement, repair or specialist cleaning.
Communications: EE provides reasonable 4G service here. Other mobile phone coverage may be limited. Broadband/WiFi is available free for guests.
Pets: As we are surrounded by farm animals and open farm land, dogs and pets are not permitted with the exception of guide dogs. Please inform us if you are bringing a guide dog. Anyone arriving with a dog or pet will be asked to leave and the booking cancelled without refund.
The person making the booking is responsible for all guests in your party. You must be at least 18 years old at the time of booking.
Smoking: As required by law in Wales, we operate a no smoking policy throughout the accommodation, smoking is only permitted in the patio area outside. An ash tray is provided for your use.
Fireworks: Fireworks and Chinese lanterns are not permitted at any time due to our location within a farming community.
Noise and disturbance. Please consider other guests and our neighbours. Guests are asked to minimise noise especially between 10pm and 8am.
Liability: We do not accept any liability for theft or damage to your property or injury to you (or other members of your party) whilst staying at the property, unless caused by our negligence. Vehicles are parked at your own risk.
Insurance: We recommend guests to take out adequate insurance cover against personal accident or injury, or loss and breakage of personal property and equipment, and any cancellations. You may also want to check that your personal travel insurance will cover the costs of cancellation in the event of poor weather, ill health etc.
Keys: Please return your keys to your key safe on departure or to us at The Held. Loss of keys will result in an additional charge of £20.00 to enable new keys to be cut.
Cancellation Policy (Direct Bookings)
For cancellations more than two weeks before the date of check-in, please contact us for a refund less £15 admin fee.
Where a deposit has been taken, full payment is required 8 weeks prior to check-in. Final payment can be made by credit/debit card or bank transfer by calling us 01874 625391.
Non-payment 2 weeks prior to check-in may be treated as a cancellation of your booking.
If you would prefer a fully refundable price per cottage, up to 30 days before check-in, please view our listing on 3rd Party sites (e.g. AirBnB/Plum) where they offer this for small fee - 7.5%.
